Went out to Addison Airport Saturday morning to this invitation-only gathering of the automotive upper crust. I got to go because haveacarortwoorthree2 graciously offered to host me. So, my daughter and I met him at the Galleria, and he drove us up in his beautiful XF RS. We stayed for about an hour and a half as the cars came in and lined up along the hangars. I had a great time chatting with some of the owners, especially this English gentleman named Dave who showed me his vintage Bentley that he drives as his daily. I also loved the red C2, and I was very impressed to see a Ford GT. My daughter’s favorites were the Lamborghinis and GT-Rs, and she took as many pictures as I did. We also got to nose around one of the planes that came out for an outing.
I also met Dave of DFWsCars. Actually, I went up to meet him because I knew his face from his Youtube videos, and when he looked confused I said, “don’t you recognize me?”, which was kind of obnoxious of me because he only knew me from my Oppo screen name. Anyway, he was cool, and we chatted for a bit.
So, here are some of the photos I took.

Yeah, it just pulled out from a hangar between the cars, and taxied to the end of the row, where we got to ogle a bit before the pilot fired her back up and went on his way toward the runway.
I want one so bad.

They’re really cool airplanes, albeit too clean for beginners- I’d love one too.

I wish. Not even flying these days - it’s been a few years too long.
Between work and family I just long for it these days.
When I was active, I belonged to a club that had a bunch of airplanes. I flew 172s, 182s and Warriors.
I particularly love the 182. Very stable for IFR, 2 extra cylinders, but you could still cross the fence at 65 kts.

Do they shut down the runway or rent out the space between the hangers?

Well I’d like to get my license one day, but it’s a pipe dream. I have neither the time nor money. Maybe when I’m an empty nester and retired.

For the cars? They just lined them up between the hangers. We didn’t go anywhere near the runway.

The time commitment is harder than the $, in my opinion. It’s bit something you can do once a month for half a day.
With kids I think it’s nearly impossible. But once they’ve flown the coop, you may have a better chance of finding the time.
I love it, and do highly recommend it. Whatever you do, don’t take an intro flight - it’ll hook you.

Glad you guys could make it out and your daughter had fun. Can never start raising the next generation of Oppo too early!

You certainly helped. My wife said she was regaling her later with technical details of all the cars she saw. Thanks again.

Not good, tbh.
